Our Lives Together

“For Susi my Wife and Soulmate”

Many years ago, coming home from work one day,

I met a beautiful young girl along the way.

My first thought was simple, honest, and true,

“Wow, what a beautiful girl,” standing there in view.

I almost passed out from the sight of her smile,

My heart was racing all the while.

After I got my composure, I asked where she was from,

And when she said “Big Spring,” my heart came undone.

I fell in love right then and there,

Captured forever without a care.

I was hooked for life and somehow knew,

My search for true love was finally through.

I had found the wife I would spend my whole life with,

A love so strong, so precious a gift.

And I knew without question from the very start,

I was one lucky man with a full and grateful heart.

We went many places together through the years,

Sharing laughter, joy, and even tears.

And every moment we shared along the way

Became a treasured memory that still lives today.

Then one day I gathered the courage to ask,

The greatest question of my life at last.

“Will you marry me and be my spouse?” I said,

And happiness filled my heart when she nodded her head.

She said yes, and my dreams all came true,

A lifetime of love began for us two.

Since 1962, through sunshine and strife,

We have shared a beautiful and wonderful life.
